A visit to the magnificent city of Florence, home to Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli, will introduce you to the city's priceless treasures. There will be time to explore on your own and experience some world-famous shopping, including leather, gold and silk. You'll travel scenic country roads to some of Tuscany's finest locations, like Siena, San Gimignano, Perugia, Assisi and Lucca. And, you'll enjoy a special trip to Pisa to observe the success of efforts to cease its Tower's famous "lean." This leisurely-paced vacation features walking tours, magnificent historic sites and superb Italian cuisine. Day 1: Overnight Flight
Rolling landscapes, savory wines, delicious food, and stunning architecture..this can only be Tuscany. Join Collette in an exploration of Italy's most famous treasure. On this special journey you will travel back roads, enjoy unhurried walking tours, visit magnificent historic sites, sample delectable cuisine and wines. Your adventure begins with an overnight flight to Italy.

Day 2: Arrive Rome, Italy
Today you arrive in Rome for your overnight stay. The remainder of your day is at leisure to explore your hotel's surroundings.

Day 3: Rome, Transfer to Tuscany
Today you will transfer to Tuscany and join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner. (D)

Day 4: Florence
A cultural tour in the "Cradle of the Italian Renaissance" showcases the beautiful city of Florence. A local expert highlights many of the city's priceless treasures, including the Academy Gallery which houses Michelangelo's monumental figure of David. At the Piazza del Duomo, center of religious life in medieval Florence, you'll see the impressive Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. You also view the Church of Santa Croce, burial place of Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli. The remainder of your day is at leisure for you to explore this magnificent city. (B, D)

Day 5: Perugia - Assisi
Enjoy a day of leisure or if you wish, join an included visit to the medieval university town of Perugia, capital of Umbria. Enjoy a walking tour of this historic town with a local guide. Next, you travel to the medieval walled city of Assisi for a guided tour of the magnificent Basilica of St. Francis and the historic old city. Early evening, you return to your hotel. (B, D)

Day 6: Uffizi Museum, Tuscan Feast
Begin the day with a tour of the amazing Uffizi Museum. A delightful experience awaits you this evening as you attend a Tuscan feast featuring traditional cuisine, wines and your favourite Italian Melodies. (B,D)

Day 7: Tuscany
Spend the entire day at your leisure. Perhaps you would like to relax, watch the world go by from a sidewalk cafe, or stroll by the many specialty shops and restaurants in the town center. A visit to one of Montecatini's famous health spas is an optional favorite with tourists. (B)

Day 8: Siena - San Gimignano
Travel through Tuscany's low-lying hills to the mystical, gentle city of Siena. Embark on a lovely walking tour through the narrow Gothic streets, and behold the stunning palaces, mansions and historic Piazza del Campo. Your day concludes with a winery tour and a wine tasting. (B, D)

Day 9: Pisa - Lucca
Travel to the ancient maritime Republic of Pisa where you will find the Piazza dei Miracoli, the Duomo (Cathedral) and its historic Baptistry, along with the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Afterwards, journey to historic Lucca. In the Old Town you will find Gothic palaces, charming shops, and streets bustling with activity. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner celebrating the end of a memorable trip to unforgettable Tuscany. (B, D)

Day 10: Tuscany - Rome
Travel the Autostrada to Rome, the "Eternal City." The remainder of your day is at leisure to explore your hotel's surroundings or visit Vatican City and the magnificent Vatican Museums on your own. (B)

Day 11: Rome
Spend the day discovering this glorious city at your leisure. The friendly personnel at your hotel will gladly assist you with optional tours that are available, such as a Classical or Christian tour of Rome. Perhaps you'll stroll by the Spanish Steps, explore the history of the Colosseum and the Forum, or simply watch the world go by from a sidewalk café. (B)

Day 12: Rome, Depart for Home
This morning you transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
